I knew Cindy would be gone. Little did I know that once I got to school I would have 2 of my paras gone as well. A little bit of fear set in.
But then a male sub walked in and I knew I could put him with my sumo wrestler of a kindergartner. Then I remembered one student would be late and his para could help with someone/something else until 10. And then another sub showed up. A little relief showed up as well.
The day went on and as I was working with one student, another came up. We'll call him Wallace. He looked and me, I said, "Hey Wallace!" He looked right back and said, "Hey Katie!" He has never said my name with that amount of initiation before! I was so happy I practically started crying happy tears! God knows just how to show up, just when I need Him. Wallace might never say my name like that again, but I'm so thankful he did today!
Cindy came back and our male sub left at lunch. I'm the bigger of Cindy and I, so I took our kindergartner for the afternoon. I'm surprised I still have enough energy to type this much for a blog! I'm pooped! He was all over the place, throwing tantrums and running down the hall. I'll admit. He ran from me today. Not very far though!
At the end of the day, we had a little mix up in busing and after some phone calls and bus rearranging, we were finally able to send all of our kiddos home. Once they were gone, I could only sit and sigh for a little bit before chatting with Cindy and getting ready for tomorrow. Hmmm....wonder if Tuesday will be the Tuesday Tumble or something like that....
